Three college kids decided that icing down a keg was too messy and not portable enough so they rounded up $20,000 and created a portable cooling wrap that plugs into an AC outlet or cigarette lighter. I'm all for advancing the science of keeping large quantities of beer cold, but having a keg and a power source so closely coupled worries me. How about developing a keg that isn't so damn heavy or that has padding on the bottom so when you inevitably drop it on our foot it doesn't break anything? Also, is keg portability really a problem facing college kids these days? When I was in college either the keg didn't last long enough to need to be transported or was conveniently located in something that allowed for easy transport like a truck or a flatbed semi.
