using pears rss reader on mac os x

Pears is a nice (or fruity as they tell it), RSS aggregator written in Python. I say nice since it is cross platform as long as your platform can run Python and wxPython (Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows at least). I used the instructions at the Pears download page for getting the software needed for my Mac. However, hen I tried to run it using python pears.py from a command line, I got an error.

Long story short (about 45 min. of searching and prodding), it turns out that on Mac OS X, you need to run /usr/local/bin/pythonw pears.py to get it to run. Once I did that, it worked like a charm.
